Yak Silk Singles 4ply is a wonderfully soft and luxurious yarn with a naturally warm undertone from the yak fibre.

Each skein is 120g, 20% larger than usual.

The blend of Superwash Merino, Mulberry Silk and Yak creates a smooth fabric with beautiful drape, subtle sheen and excellent stitch definition. The yak gives colours a slightly muted, smoky depth, making this base particularly beautiful for rich, moody colourways.

This yarn is ideal for shawls, scarves, lightweight garments and other projects where softness and drape are important. As it is a singles yarn, it creates an open, fluid fabric and works especially well for looser gauges and more delicate textures. Speckles tend to appear softer on this base, while layered and tonal colourways develop beautifully.

I use acid dyes that result in vibrant permanent colours. I recommend to handwash a ready item in cool water with as little movement as possible for best results. Some colours might bleed at first wash.
