This beautiful set of 5 skeins has been hand dyed in a rich gradient on a naturally coloured base. The yarn itself is a blend of 50% Bluefaced Leicester and 50% Fine Masham, spun in Britain and offered in 4ply weight with approximately 450 metres per 100g hank. The natural base gives each colour depth and warmth, creating an ombré effect that flows seamlessly from one skein to the next.

This range is made from 100% British wool, with a 2/9Nm construction that’s soft yet structured, making it ideal for shawls, garments, and colourwork projects. The gradient has been dyed to highlight the subtle character of the undyed wool, resulting in layered tones with a gentle rustic glow. Perfect for knitters who love working with natural fibres and want a ready-made fade set.

This gradient set is ideal for creating beautifully blended sweaters or shawls. To achieve a smooth transition between colours, start knitting with one skein, then alternate rows or rounds with the next skein for several inches to softly merge the shades. Techniques like helical knitting, two-row striping, or fading with held strands work especially well to avoid harsh lines. Once the colours are blended to your liking, switch fully to the next skein and repeat the process through the set for a seamless ombre effect.

Bluefaced Leicester/Brown Masham non-superwash yarn is a unique blend of two British wool types, combining the softness of Bluefaced Leicester wool with the rustic strength of Brown Masham wool. I use acid dyes that result in vibrant permanent colours. I recommend to handwash a ready item in cool water with as little movement as possible for best results. Some colours might bleed at first wash.
